The Arkaya Production Standard · v1

How Arkaya governs its own production.

The architecture Arkaya proposes for the market is the architecture Arkaya applies to itself.
Self-imposed. Publicly published. Evidenced on every artefact issued.

Status

A self-imposed standard, publicly published.

The Arkaya Production Standard is not a regulatory or industry-recognised framework. It draws on recognised principles, including Boyd's OODA, Beer's Viable System Model and Ashby's Law of Requisite Variety, and applies them to Arkaya's own work.

Readers are invited to test any Arkaya artefact against the Standard. The Standard publishes on whole-integer versions and updates when the discipline behind it changes materially.

The four stages

Arkaya's governance loop, applied to Arkaya.

The Arkaya governance loop has four stages: Protocol, Signal, Human Decision, Evidence. The same loop Arkaya proposes for the corporations and capital-market counterparties we work with governs Arkaya's own production.

Protocol
Every artefact Arkaya issues is produced against the Arkaya Production Standard v1. The Standard names the tools used in drafting, the verification steps performed before delivery, the human approver and their role, and the version under which the artefact issues. Authored by Arkaya, not by the tool.
Signal
Drafting uses Claude (Anthropic) and a defined set of subscription research sources. Live monitoring runs through Google Alerts on the subject terms covered by each document, with primary-source feeds from regulators, exchanges, insurers and brokers. Signal flows continuously. It feeds verification; it does not substitute for it.
Human Decision
Every artefact is approved by a named human before issue. The approver, David McKibbin, Founder of Arkaya Risk, checks the locked formulations, case figures, source citations and construction. Trained human judgment at protocol-defined latency. No artefact issues without approval.
Evidence
Each artefact carries three permanent evidence elements: a numbered reference block with substantive content (not bare citations), a Production Note on the back page recording how it was produced, and an integer version recording iteration history. Read in series, these produce trajectory: time-series proof that Arkaya's production matched its own Standard at each issue.
The scope of AI inside the Standard

AI sits inside the Standard.

AI is one input among several governed by the Standard. The Standard governs production. AI sits inside the Standard; the Standard does not sit inside AI. This distinction matters because Arkaya is positioned as the operating system across every governance discipline, not as a participant in any one of them. The Standard demonstrates the position.

What this is not

Not a disclaimer.

The Standard is not a disclaimer. It is not a compliance footer asserting that AI was used. It does not claim that AI use eliminates error, bias or omission. It claims that production at Arkaya is bounded by a written standard, monitored by named sources, approved by a named human and evidenced in every artefact issued.

Trajectory

Whole-integer versions. Built, not asserted.

The Standard publishes on whole-integer versions. Each version is itself evidenced and dated.

v1, now. The human-readable Production Note on every artefact. Tools, verification, named approver, version, date.

v2, second half of 2026. A cryptographic stamp on each artefact: signed with an Arkaya private key, the SHA-256 hash of the file embedded in the Production Note, verifiable by any reader.

v3, through 2026 and 2027. Adoption of C2PA Content Credentials, the open provenance standard backed by Adobe, Microsoft, Sony, OpenAI, the BBC and Leica. Machine-readable, interoperable provenance on top of the human-readable note.

References

  1. Arkaya governance loop architecture. The Loop is the operational realisation of Beer's Viable System Model (Brain of the Firm, 1972) and Boyd's OODA loop at environmental cadence, applied here to Arkaya's own production rather than to a client governance system.
  2. Meta-governance positioning. Arkaya is positioned as the operating system across every governance discipline, distinct from the single-domain governance cohort. The Standard is titled to defend this position rather than the narrower one of AI governance alone.
  3. Witnessed thesis. The Standard reflects the founder's training in the London Market post-Big Bang 1986 and practice on every side of the deal table since: underwriting, broking on the sell-side, and corporate on the buy-side. The risk-as-signal feedback loop that disciplined the market through the 1980s and 1990s was suppressed by the years of abundant credit from the early 2000s until COVID. The Standard applies that testing mechanism to Arkaya production itself.
  4. Reference-block discipline. Numbered references with substantive content, not bare citations. The reference block evidences the authenticate-and-verify approach Arkaya proposes architecturally; the Standard mirrors the product position in its own publication form.
  5. C2PA Content Credentials. Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity, technical specification v2.0 (2024) with v2.1 in progress through 2026. Backed by Adobe, Microsoft, Sony, OpenAI, the BBC and Leica. The emerging open standard for cryptographically signed content provenance, named here as the v3 trajectory target for the Arkaya Production Standard. c2pa.org
  6. Closing line and brand frame. The Standard ends on the locked closing line at its full register: the Standard is itself a built artefact, evidenced and dated, not an assertion.
